New Batman Title to be Announced Soon?
Last year’s Arkham Origins was always going to be a filler game. As good as it was, it had the unpleasant task of being stuck between Arkham City and whatever Rocksteady are building for next-gen consoles. How could it compete with one of the best rated games of this generation and the sheer hardware of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Soon we’ll get to see exactly what we’re holding out for – it seems Rocksteady are gearing up for a big announcement.
To be more precise, they’re sharing their new game with members of the press in EU territories. Dualshockers reports that a tweet from IGN writer Jan Meijroos revealed that she’d been shown something new by the Batman studio and that the embargo on it would be up in about a month. The tweet has since been deleted.
It’s not the first time that a next-gen Batman has been “hinted” at. When asked whether he was working on the new Batman game, long-time Dark Knight voice actor Kevin Conroy happily announced he was excited to be back on board. Except he wasn’t. He tweeted that it was actually the next game he was going to be involved in, a game that has yet to be announced.
Give it a few weeks, and the future of Bats will be revealed.
