Paper Mario games are great, although have been trending downwards since the release of The Thousand Year Door on the GameCube. The last release, Sticker Star, was lackluster to say the least, borrowing heavily from the 2D Super Mario games heavily by removing the 'open world' and replacing it with Worlds and Levels, i.e. World 1-Level 1. Mario and Luigi titles have been one of my favorite Mario franchises. My other favorite franchise? Paper Mario. In my personal opinion, the last release for each - Mario and Luigi: Dream Team and Paper Mario: Sticker Star where somewhat of a let down. Dream Team was good, yes, but Sticker Star was pretty bad. Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon will not be a game that every 3DS or Pokemon fan will like, but that doesn't mean it does not have some redeeming qualities. Individuals who have been turned off by previous Mystery Dungeon titles will not be won over with this latest installment. The core game play mechanics have not been overhauled much from previous titles, but the inclusion of 20 Pokemon to select as a starter, and the ability to interact with all 720 Pokemon - including legionaries - should make fans of the franchise ready to tackle and more mystery dungeons.

Apparently, lumping together Zelda and the 3DS is not always going to produce an epic adventure like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Tri Force Heroes might use the same graphical approach, but the game could not be any more different. Nintendo of Europe released details about Happy Home Designer, the latest title in the Animal Crossing Franchise. In Happy Home Designer, players get to play - in more detail - a very specific part of past Animal Crossing games: decorating homes! The rising price of AAA video games at Canadian retail locations is making me wonder something: how long can consumers continue to pay the high price of games? Best Buy Canada and Amazon Canada have been offering a bunch of pre-order incentives for games announced at E3 2015. With a 5-10$ discount, these retailers are charging 64.99 - 69.99; that means the regular price on these titles is 74.99 - 79.99. With a 13% sales tax in Ontario, that means a brand new AAA tilte at full cost could set back consumers 90.00, or roughly 1/5 the price of an Xbox One or PS4.

We have had a wonderful relationship with Nintendo for well over a year now. They are great at answering questions, inviting us to events, and providing us with copies of games for review. Certain games are either free-to-play, meaning we don't need to wait for a review copy, or Nintendo simply doesn't have copies available for certain things.

I was promised in the email from Nintendo of Canada that tomorrows Nintendo Direct was not an April Fools joke. The direct is aimed at updating games that Nintendo is working on, particularly those coming in 2015. A Nintendo Treehouse presentation is to follow outlining a 2015 Spring title.

Rumors have surface about a Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door remake for 3DS. A 4Chan user posted both a video and screenshot of the game being played on the New 3DS XL. The screenshot clearly shows the game being played across both screens: action on the top, important menu stuff on the bottom.
