MLB The Show 20 Review

The sweet smell of grass in the spring. Flowers starting to bud and bloom. The crisp evening air.  The crack of a baseball bat, and the roar of the crowd. It’s Springtime — well, in any other year than 2020. And in MLB The Show 20, it’s still baseball season. In many ways, this year’s Show builds upon the games that have come before it. It features roughly the same gameplay and roughly the same modes, just fine-tuned for another…

Nioh 2 Review

So there I am, a battle scarred worn down warrior, face to face with a giant horse-like creature easily 5 times my size. In his right hand a massive cleaver larger than myself, easily capable of taking me out with just a few hits.  I have a choice to make, do I go after him with my massive Scythe or do I go after him with Dual-Wielding swords… I choose the Scythe and I charge into battle, within 30 seconds I am dead. I come back and this time think, maybe the quicker attacks from my swords will work much better, I smile a little, this time it is better. I ...

Monster Energy Supercross 3 – Review

I’m going to take a step back from reviewing Monster Energy Supercross 3 on the PS4, and let my 3-year-old give her thoughts on the latest game in the series from Milestone. “The obstacle course looks beautiful!” Insert “track” for “obstacle course” and you can see where she’s coming from. The game is a looker, as each of its predecessors has been. The tracks look great from the beginning, whether you’re indoors or outdoors, under the lights or in the…

Dreams Review

Dreams, a brilliant game creator, social experiment, quite literally what may be the best example of games can be art that has ever existed. At face value Dreams has you take control of an “imp”, basically your avatar that is used to interact with the environment in Dreams, it can be used to move objects, possess characters to take control of them, use as basically a mouse to help create stages, so on and so forth. Media Molecule has various…

Tony Stewart’s Sprint Car Racing Review

It’s a warm Saturday night in the summer. The dirt is flying as 20 sprint cars slide around the track in a perpetual left-hand turn, jockeying for position in front of local fans and family members. The motors are a constant drone, leaving your ears ringing while the dirt and dust gets in your eyes; leaving a gritty feeling in your teeth. In video games, that smalltown dirt-track feeling has been missing for a while. Sure, you can run a…

Review Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot

When I was younger, I actually remember my father of all people, enjoying DBZ. I would often see him watching them on Cartoon Network, to be honest I was intrigued but never quite a fan. Many folks have told me it’s better to not watch them on TV, etc etc. But that was the exposure I had, I did like the action and story, however it was painfully slow and dragged out in twenty minute bursts of people yelling AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…

Death Stranding Review

Few games this generation have been as ambitious and disappointing as Death Stranding. The title had a ton of hype, as it was being developed by Hideo Kojima, and was starring the Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus. Just on those two points, and knowing there would be an epic world to explore, I was hooked from the day it was announced. Sadly – in my opinion at least – Death Stranding became enamored with itself, cloaking much of the games development…

THE BOX VR Review

What is really great about PlayStation VR is that Sony and other publishers can release less expensive titles onto the platform that are simple, but have a great impact on those playing. BOX VR is one of those games, a great rhythm based experience that really is a solid workout. While not as deep of a rhythm game as Beat Sabre, this gets pretty darn close for those looking to get a solid workout while playing a fun game. Thankfully,…

MediEvil Review

I think I only played a demo of MediEvil on the Playstation 1. I don’t think I’ve ever played the full game. So I wasn’t especially excited for the remake for Playstation 4. I did play the demo and thought it was alright. I didn’t expect to review the final game though. Enter Sony Interactive Entertainment Canada, who gave GamesReviews.com a review code for the game. I was picked to review the game and now that I’ve played it…I have…
