Xbox launching a new wireless headset
Xbox is launching a new Xbox Wireless Headset designed to provide superior audio and chat quality at an affordable price, according to a post on Xbox Wire.
The new headset is available for preorder now and will launch on March 16, costing $99.99 in the US and $129.99 in Canada. The headset “delivers best-in-class audio and chat performance, outstanding design and comfort, and unique experiences that are tailored for each gamer.”
It will support Windows Sonic, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Headphone: X, as well as providing “clear and intelligent chat audio quality.” Voice isolation helps the mic pick up your voice rather than background noise — so now your buddies won’t overhear your crunchy Doritos bag in the background. There’s even an auto-mute feature that activates when you aren’t talking.
The headset connects wirelessly with the Xbox Series and Xbox One consoles, as well as Windows 10 PCs. It pairs via Bluetooth to mobile devices and can pair to your phone and console at the same time. There’s also customizable sound through the Xbox Accessories app
The Xbox Wire post touts up to 15 hours of battery life on 3 hours of charging, and 4 hours of battery life on just 30 minutes of charge.
The Xbox Wireless Headset is available now directly from Microsoft.
