It's commonly known that sports games are released every year and even though they provide a solid and realistic experience, they don't improve much over the last iteration. The NBA 2K series is no different but this doesn't seem to be a bad thing, rather than re-invent the wheel 2K Games have decided to make slight improvements, everything that made NBA 2K13 great has been improved.

When Nintendo releases a game, it is generally a normal experience. At the worst, it's perhaps a Mario game with a twist, ala Mario Galaxy. However, Nintendo's latest release - yes, this game has been available in Japan for over a year - is completely off the wall. For a title that does so little, Tomodachi Life is insanely addicting, witty, and often downright strange. It does, however, deserve your attention!

As a cephalopod protagonist, Octodad Dadliest Catch is nothing if not original. Your flailing tentacles create charm and humor in spades. There is truly no other game like it. If it wasn't for a few maddening levels, I would want another order of this tasty calamari.

Racing games can generally be played in a variety of ways. While those that love Gran Turismo the most might play it as a simulator, it's just as easy to experience it as some approximation of Mario Kart, crashing into other vehicles on long bends or swinging onto the grass when necessary. NASCAR '14 is all about tight lines and clever driving, a fact that makes it both very playable and undoubtedly niche.

The Wolf Among Us’ fourth and penultimate episode, In Sheep’s Clothing, still contains the same well written dialogue and peculiar characters, but fails to offer up anything substantial or new to the table. Following what is, in my opinion, the best episode in the series, A Crooked Mile, which left main character Bigby Wolf in a critical state, I had high hopes for this installment. This unique series is coming to an end soon, but In Sheep’s Clothing did not do anything to elicit that feeling

With the release of Bastion in 2011, Supergiant games burst onto the gaming landscape. Bastion was critically acclaimed and was on several Game of the Year lists as well. Transistor is Supergiant's latest game, which has been three years in the making - and it was well worth the wait.

Let me start by saying that this game piqued my interest almost instantly. I saw the Steam page and trailer, and knew this was the sort of game I'd enjoy. It seemed to have everything I like in a video game. It's an RPG with skill trees, an interesting combat system, lots of quests, and item drops. Bubble Blaze is a (very) casual game for Android and IOS devices. The game offers not much in ways of innovation but seems to rely on its cute art style and simple but fun game mechanic.

Max The Curse of Brotherhood was a big release on Xbox One when it first came out. It was given decent ad time to the point where even people with no interest in the console were seeing videos. Now available on PC, the need to have the latest Microsoft console is gone, but the quality of the game remains. This is a game that looks new-gen, with beautiful textures and bright colours you wouldn't get anywhere else.
