Nintendo Announces lots of Mario Kart 8 DLC
It’s finally coming, and I can guarantee you already that it will be awesome and definitely worth the purchase. IGN has reported that Nintendo is releasing two separate DLC packages for November 2014 and May 2015. Both packs will have new characters, karts, and tracks. As an added bonus, the characters won’t all be from the Mushroom Kingdom.
The first pack, due out in November, includes Tanooki Mario, Cat Peach, and Link. Yes that’s correct: Link. Nintendo Kart has unofficially become a thing. And I’m one fan that could not be happier about it. Also included in this pack are new karts and 2 new cups, totaling 8 tracks. IGN has stated that one of the new vehicles will be the Blue Falcon from F-Zero.
The second pack, due out in May, will include Villager, Isabelle, and Dry Bowser. Again, new karts and 2 new cups, totaling 8 tracks, will also be included. If players choose to purchase both packs, they will receive 8 different color Yoshi and Shy Guy characters to choose from.
Nintendo is doing everything right with their mega franchise, and it will only mean more good things for the Wii U going forward. Aside from renewing interest in the title from those who already own it, these packs may also give Mario Kart, and the Wii U, an other sales boost.
IGN stated that the packages are currently slated for release in Europe only (although that will most definitely change) for about 12$ USD. Assuming we get 4 new tracks and 4 old tracks per package, what classic Mario Kart courses would you like to see included?
In November, GamesReviews will return to Mario Kart 8 with a full review on the new characters, karts, and courses.
