Snipperclips Plus a Welcome Addition to the Original Title

Snipperclips is easily one of my favorite, budget titles to release on Nintendo Switch to date. The idea of playing with someone else - although much less fun, can also be done solo - to cut each other into shapes to solve puzzles is fantastic, and the only problem with the original release was that there just wasn't enough of it. My wife and I blew through the initial worlds offered in the game, and while the multiplayer modes were fun, they didn't quite hit the highs that the campaign did. When Nintendo of Canada reached out and offered us an opportunity to ...

More Thoughts From Me #95: My First Trip to Skyrim

I was going to write about what (and who) in gaming I was thankful for this year but honestly, I just don’t feel like writing a list like that this year. Sorry. I am thankful for many of you though, especially Adam Roffel, Games Reviews, and some other wonderful people I mentioned on twitter. I am @df2506 there (plug, plug), please follow me. And Adam & Games Reviews and the other people I mentioned. Ok? So what is this column…

Nintendo Continuing Great Year with Splatoon Update

Nintendo has a hit on their hands, and they know it. And no, I'm not talking about the Nintendo Switch, but rather, Splatoon 2, the sequel to the fast selling and much played Splatoon from the Wii U days. Nintendo has done a lot wrong over the past 5 years - fixed almost entirely by the Nintendo Switch - but one thing they've done right, which every one else has failed, is continuing to support their titles well after launch, with free content. This week, Nintendo is rolling out brand new content for Splatoon 2 that will bring new weapons, items, and maps for ...

Why LEGO Games are a Family Experience

If you've had the opportunity to play LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 - from Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Travelers Tales - you will quickly understand that it is a love letter to the Marvel Universe. For those who want to see some of those lesser known heroes, they are here. For those who want Baby Groot and Star Lord: they are here. The variety of characters available in LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 is phenomenal, and only made playing this title with my newly-minted-Marvel-fan-son that much more enjoyable. The biggest draw for my family with LEGO ...

More Thoughts From Me #94: Make Mine Lego Marvel

Earlier this week, Tuesday to be exact, I got Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch. Since then, I’ve been playing the game a lot! I am nowhere near the end of the game but I wanted to share with you all my first impressions of Lego Marvel 2! How good is this game? Warning: some character spoilers ahead! The Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 Deluxe Edition is great. I got the game, a poster, a Goliath mini…

Skyrim Gets A Second Wind on Nintendo Switch

With the launch of the Xbox One X recently, the talk has been all about graphics. And while that is important - and definitely appreciated when playing the popular Xbox games in 4K - there is something that should be said about portability and stability, versus graphical power. I'll be the first to say that if I have to take a minor graphical hit to take my favorite games on the go with the Nintendo Switch, I'm all for it. The argument has been, "Well the graphics are going to be really poor on the Nintendo Switch." Frankly, that just isn't the case, and ...

Portal Knights Coming to Nintendo Switch

I've never been a big fan of the Minecraft genre of games, mostly because of the graphical deficiencies, and because I feel I'm too dang old to start getting involved now. However, one game over the past year has really grabbed my attention, and I've spent hundreds of hours with friends and families building up little towns and villages complete with castles, homes, workshops, and more. I'm talking Portal Knights, one of the better sandbox titles to release this past year on console, and it is coming to Nintendo Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 “Close Call” Commercial

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is coming to the Nintendo Switch on December 1st. It really does look like it’ll be the biggest and best jrpg to come to any system this year. Nintendo has released a commercial for the game! We have that below, plus some thoughts from me about Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I’ve been watching a lot of preview footage for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 lately. The game looks so very good! I did enjoy the other Xenoblade games, however Xenoblade…

Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 – Nintendo Switch Features Trailer

I played Resident Evil Revelations on the Wii U and liked it a lot. It was a lot like classic Resident Evil, expect with a better in-game camera! I never got to play Resident Evil Revelations 2 because that game never came to the Wii U. And now Capcom is bringing both games to the Nintendo Switch. Check out the brand new Nintendo Switch Features trailer for Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2 and then please come back for my…
