When Nintendo unveiled Super Smash Bros Ultimate at E3 2018, my first reaction was, "Is this it for Smash Bros?" In a game that promises to feature all the fighters from past titles, as well as stages from past titles, should we expect this release to be the swan song for the franchise. While I feel that Super Smash Bros will continue as Nintendo launches more systems, there is plenty of evidence to say that isn't going to happen.

Mario Tennis Aces is hitting the Nintendo Switch at the exact right time, about half a year before Nintendo's next major multiplayer title - Super Smash Bros Ultimate - and just a few months before Nintendo's paid online access take affected. And this timing is incredibly important, because despite its shortcomings on single player content, Mario Tennis Aces is setting itself up to be one of Nintendo's better online offerings in recent memory. With the promise of a robust online system, Mario Tennis Aces is about to hit the next level.

Last week during E3, Nintendo and Square Enix released a new demo for Octopath Traveler. We had seen a demo before for the game, but this new one had some improvements and also let you play as any of the eight characters in the full game. I've been playing this demo a lot.
