Valiant Hearts: The Great War Review

A comic-styled indie puzzle game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War follows four characters who find themselves caught up in the middle of the First World War. The game is inspired by real events that occurred in Europe betweeen 1914 and 1918 as well as actual letters that were sent during the war. Initially released in 2014, the Nintendo Switch port hit the shelves last November. Steel your nerves and get ready for all of the feels, as Valiant Hearts promises to be one seriously emotional experience!

What do you get when you combine Zelda and Earthbound? If you said Rainbite’s Reverie, then you’re right. But if you also said Anodyne from publisher Noooo you’d be right too. While Anodyne has a slightly darker look to it then Earthbound or Zelda, it shares much in common with both. Anodyne is coming to the Nintendo Switch this Thursday. I received a review copy of it and wanted to give you a glimpse into this unique game’s world. Anodyne…

Daggerhood Preview

Daggerhood is the latest game that Ratalaika Games are bringing to the Switch. Its an action/platformer and its pretty hard. I have been playing it for review and I have some thoughts on it. Daggerhood is an insanely hard game. In Daggerhood, you play a thief who is out to steal all of the king’s gold. He only has a dagger to get him through all of the insane traps and enemies that he’ll find on his journey. Fortunately, the…

Everspace Review

Finally, the wildly popular space-shooter roguelike Everspace has made its way to the Nintendo Switch! Originally released in May 2017, Everspace is a beautifully minimalistic roguelike adventure game. Produced and developed by veteran indie developer ROCKFISH Games, Everspace utilizes the Unreal Engine 4 and has snagged many awards since its initial release. It was released for the Nintendo Switch late last year, and we have eagerly waiting to get our hands on it ever since. I can't wait to see how this port fairs on the Switch, so let's get right to it!

Gaming on the Google Pixel Slate

Thanks to our good friends at Google Canada, we had the opportunity to take the Google Pixel Slate for a spin over the holidays, and since my family has enjoyed Android gaming on the Google Pixelbook, we figured we'd give it a try on the Slate as well. And the experience is, well, relativley similar, with one major important caveat: the keyboard disconnects.
