If you've been anticipating the latest Fable release and have been saving your pennies, you can now stop. Microsoft and Lion Head Studios announced late last week that Fable Legends will now be free-to-play. While there is no real reason given for this change in philosophy, one can only suspect that perhaps, the Fable franchise has lost it's 'must buy' reputation.

Funk of Titans Review
January is a pretty quiet month generally for the video game community. Most people are working through their holiday backlog so games usually don't release until February at the earliest. However, indie developer Crowd of Monsters is releasing Funk of Titans this Friday for Xbox One. This ID@Xbox game takes almost everything you love from 'runner' games on mobile and puts them on a console. While the game has its issues, the game will justify the price and will be the perfect addition to mobile game loving, Xbox playing individuals.

If you own an Xbox One and have enjoyed Halo in the past, Halo: Master Chief Collection is hands down the best value for your dollar you will find on the console. I think many would have paid nearly the retail price just for Halo 2: Anniversary Edition - which is the definitive version in this bundle - but to get Combat Evolved, Halo 3, and Halo 4 is a huge bonus. If you need something to play with friends this holiday season, look no further than this Halo collection which is sure to not disappoint.

Insomniac Games has developed some interesting titles in the past, so it was no shock that perhaps the wackiest game of the year was also developed by them. Despite a few minor annoyances, Sunset Overdrive might be one of the best original titles released in 2014, and potentially ever. The game mixes genres that you love - it's been a while since a Tony Hawk Game; get your fix here! - and has some of the best writing I've seen in a video game to date. If you need something to grab to play this holiday season, Sunset Overdrive should be near the top of your list.

Read MorePlayStation Beats Xbox on Quantity AND Quality, Although it’s Gamers That Win
When Neogaf user DeadPixel made a list of all the games released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 since release, there was a lot of discussion about quality vs quantity. Is it better to have a lot of smaller releases, including re-releases of indie games from the previous generation, or bigger AAA titles like Titanfall? Your answer probably aligns somewhat with your console of choice. GamesReview's very own Steven Van Eekeran wasn't convinced that it was an issue of quality against quantity though. Instead he found that the average score across both new-gen ...

Many years ago when there was a huge discrepancy between the value of the Canadian and US dollar, games and consoles in Canada were significantly more expensive then the United States. However, over the last generation, the Canadian-US dollar has almost been at par because of a failing US economy coupled with a strong Canadian economy.

The Xbox One has been out only a few months, and Microsoft have already announced a pretty major price drop in the UK. All future consoles will be available to purchase for £399, and the first of these new consoles will contain a free copy of Titanfall. They know this is going to be a system seller, and they're trying to make it as tempting as possible to those on the fence.
Read MoreXbox One Update Slightly Delayed
An update for the Xbox One was supposedly going to hit today, but unfortunately it's been slightly delayed. Confirmed by Major Nelson today, the patch will still be arriving at some time during the next week, it just won't be available to download today. No definitive answer was given as to why.
Read MoreMicrosoft looking to sell Xbox One through Trade in promotion
Microsoft is looking to sell even more Xbox One systems after a very successful holiday season. Microsoft emailed customers with this offer which is currently available in North America at Microsoft Store locations. The email said, "Ditch your PS3 and get 100$ store credit towards Xbox One." Perhaps this is an attempt to avoid the inevitable post holiday drop in sales. There is a fair amount of fine print to this promotion, and it is not limited to PS3. Customers can also trade in an Xbox 360 S or Xbox 360 E. The promotion comes with a fair amount of ...
