Every once in a while, a game developer and creator is not a man in a business suit thinking of what unnecessary spin-off or disappointing sequel game will bring in the big bucks. NES Remix II builds on the same basic gameplay mechanics of the original NES Remix. And this is great, because it allows players to attempt challenges in some more popular classic titles such as Super Mario Bros. 3, Zelda 2, Dr. Mario, and Punch-Out. NES Remix II added leaderboards, allowing players to post their scores to Miiverse and to compare with others. Although not a game changer, it was a welcome addition.

Ever since the early demise of the Dreamcast, SEGA just hasn't been that overly-cocky, beloved, big name in gaming that they used to be. The company has had a record of failing to really impress audiences or put out games that seem to rival that of mainstream titles. SEGA's only series that has a loyal following and gets major buzz today is, of course, Sonic the Hedgehog. And while our little blue blur is great (most of the time); he wasn't always SEGA's only big series.

If you want one of your first next-gen experiences to be something ignored for almost two decades, look no further.

While many of us are gearing up for the beginning of the next generation of consoles, one family is going backwards. The McMillans from Canada are trading in all of their modern devices - from tablets to TVs - and instead of going back to something a little more retro. If it wasn't around in 1986, they don't use it. This means goodbye Candy Crush, hello NES.
