Sony have reset an amount of EU PlayStation Network passwords, forcing users to choose something new before they can re-access their online accounts. That's inconvenient enough, but they've done it on such a scale that there's a huge backlog of people waiting for password change emails, and Sony has no idea when they'll be caught up.

Sony are resetting countless PSN passwords as a security measure ahead of the PlayStation 4 launch next week. There also may have been attempts to break the network, although that is entirely unconfirmed (and based only on an official statement on the Sony forums). Either way, it means you may need to mess around with your account details next time you want to connect to the PSN.

Vita owners have been patiently waiting for the yearly PlayStation Plus update, removing Uncharted: Golden Abyss and Gravity Rush from the service and replacing it with something a little fresher. There won't be a specific Facebook app for PlayStation 4, despite the fact that you have the option to tie the social network into the OS. Why? Because maintaining an app is difficult and the PlayStation 4 browser is "pretty pleasant."

Sony have confirmed that they will be announcing the release date of the PS4 tomorrow at 6pm CET at Gamescom in Germany.

Call of Duty: Ghosts may just be coming to PlayStation Vita. Gamestop Spain have posted a listing for a Vita version of this year's biggest arcade shooter, listing it at 45 euros. Of course, this might be a mistake on their part - a tick box ticked where no tick should be. That isn't always the case though, and it wouldn't be the first time that a retailer has revealed a game ahead of its official announcement.
