When I first saw Monster Hunter Stories in the Nintendo eShop, it was right around the day the demo landed, and everybody kept saying online, "It's Pokémon, but Monster Hunter." I was intrigued immediately, but that excitement was quickly quashed when I realized that Monster Hunter Stories is almost nothing like Pokémon at all. Then I played the demo, and a new wave of excitement passed through me. Monster Hunter Stories is not a game without a number of faults, but the overall package work really well, making it one of my favorite 3DS games this year.

Dusk Form Lycanroc is coming to Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon, and will be a downloadable 'freebie' for those who pick up the game between its release date on November 17, 2017 and January 10, 2018. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will extend the gameplay of the original Pokémon Sun and Pokémon moon with new exclusive Pokémon, a new story, and some new areas to explore. We are really looking forward to this holiday release, and will have a review ahead of launch up on the website.

Nintendo generally always has a good pulse on what the audience thinks about their products, and often will adjust course to meet those high expectations. I strongly feel like that is why we got the Nintendo Switch when we did, and also the reason why Nintendo continues to support the 2DS and 3DS despite the Switch beginning to encroach on that on-the-go Nintendo territory. We know all about the Switch and what support it has, but what about the 3DS. Well, for those fans, things are looking incredibly bright.

In my review of Ever Oasis on the Nintendo 3DS, I noted that the game was pretty deep, despite the impressions I was left with when reading the thoughts of others, and watching Treehouse Live demonstrations. After even more time with the game - and playing it for a second time - I'm back to let you know just how deep it is! Here are a few things you won't want to miss out on.

During this first trip to E3 I had the distinct honor and pleasure of a Nintendo Booth tour and meeting with Julie Gagnon, from Nintendo Canada. In preparing for this meeting I reflected on my history with Nintendo, from Nintendo classic to SNES to Nintendo 64 and WiiU. I've had my share of joy from Nintendo Products over decades, from: Mario, Super Mario, Mario RPG, Wetrix, and Splatoon. To be honest, I hadn't played Nintendo games much over the past few years, but this visit felt like visiting a friend from my childhood.

Ever Oasis was not something I was looking forward too, and for what ever reason, even the Treehouse Live presentations were not getting my pumped for this release. However, it wasn't until I played the game last night that I understood the huge appeal. I hope more people are willing to give Ever Oasis a try as it could be a very successful, new IP for Nintendo!

Nintendo continues to roll out huge announcements, and if we have learned anything this week so far, it is that big announcements don't necessarily need to be new IPs! One of the best Mario and Luigi games to have ever been released is coming back, new and improved, on the Nintendo 3DS. Get ready for Mario and Luigi: Superstar Sega + Bowser's Minions!

Today was the much anticipated Pokémon Direct that was to outline games coming to the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS family of systems. While there was much talk about what we would potentially see - a rerelease for Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon Stars on Nintendo Switch - what we got was, well, slightly disappointing for some, and pretty exciting for others!

Tomorrow morning at 7 AM PDT, Nintendo will be hosting a Pokémon Direct to talk all things Pokémon. With E3 2017 just around the corner, it seems odd that Nintendo would be doing this now, but I expect a fairly big announcement tomorrow to hype people up for what Nintendo has at E3 – if what they were already going to show wasn’t enough!
