Home Sweet Home Review
Home Sweet Home is a first-person indie-horror game inspired by Thai myths and beliefs that was recently released on PS4 and Xbox One from Thai developer Yggdrazil. Yggdrazil is not known for game creation, as it boasts projects in VFX, Animation, Art Design and Online-Editing categories, with very little focus on games. For a company with such a diverse portfolio, it would be an understatement to say I was surprised with the overall quality of Home Sweet Home.

So your neighbor may have committed a crime. Possibly a murder. You see him doing something fishy in his house. And so you call the cops right? Wrong! Instead of calling the cops like any sane person, you decide that you must sneak into your neighbor’s house and find out what exactly he was doing. Crazy right? Its also the premise for a brand new Nintendo Switch game called Hello Neighbor. Its coming out tomorrow, but I got an early…

Have you ever played a video game, sunk many hours into it, and realize that a familiar phrase out of your mouth was, "What the hell did I just watch and play?" Those games, generally, are the ones that keep you playing, keep you guessing, and in some situations, begin messing with the deepest part of your mind as you navigate the various puzzles and elements the game throws at you. A few hours into >observer_, and I can tell you that this is definitely the case.

What do you get when you mix teenagers with complicated relationships, terrible earthquakes, and a strange 'friendship' spell ritual? If you're thinking this sounds like the plot of a bad teen horror movie, you are not wrong. However, Corpse Party - a top down survival horror game - has taken that exact idea and made it truly, truly terrifying.

ayers of Fear (a perfect pun of a title) invites players to see the world through the mind of a talented but tormented painter as he navigates his abandoned house and his own guilty conscience. The game, published by Aspyr and developed by Bloober Team SA, has been listed on Steam as an early access game for some time, but in February was fully released to the public both on PC and console. So far the game has received very positive reviews, something games in the horror genre usually have to work a little harder to receive since they so often are accused of ...
Read MoreUntil Dawn Review
Over the course of the history of gaming, game designers have allowed players minimal to no choices regarding how the storyline of their game ends. Perhaps they might give the player a chance to decide to spare or kill an enemy NPC or let them pick their party members – but never decisions big enough to feel important. With the emergence of games like the Telltale Series, players are getting more and more power allotted to them to influence their final ending. Games like Silent Hill and Bioshock started to allow players to have one of three to five different ...

At the very start of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a message sprawls across the screen informing the player that this game does not hold your hand and that through atmospheric exploration you will discover the truth. This statement could not be more true, and only moments into gameplay it is clear that you are on your own. With nearly open world investigation and a subtle storyline that does not force the player into doing things in any particular order, you are able to fully enjoy the experience of the world created. A beautiful game at heart, it was ...

Controlling (now in first-person, for the first time in the series so far) an unnamed man who appears to be (at least in physical appearance) one of the main antagonists from The Evil Within – The Keeper. Nicknamed ‘safe head’ by fans and developers, the lumbering butcher’s face is entirely hidden by a safe-like helmet filled to the brim with pulsing flesh and blood. Carrying a huge meat tenderizer hammer covered in spikes and a bag filled with the brains of his victims, The Keeper is a force to be reckoned with. In this third DLC installment, the player now ...
