EA Openly Mock Wii U on Twitter
It's April 1st, and that means you absolutely have to be careful what you reveal, lest it gets called a joke. Some developers try to make an effort, even creating videos to entertain and stick in the mind. Whoever runs EA's Frostbite account decided to pull a different kind of prank.

Think Battlefield 4 is underwhelming? No need to worry - Battlefield 5 is on its way. That's not surprising though, there was never any reason to doubt EA would be bringing back their flagship shooter franchise. The question is how soon? Titanfall was always going to be a big next-gen game, despite the fact that it's available on PC and Xbox 360 as well, but we definitely didn't see just how big it'd turn out. If you've played an AAA game in the last twelve months, there's a good chance you've come across the concept of the 'Season Pass'. This gives you an entire collection of DLC at a reduced price, usually the cost of one DLC pack. It started, among other places, with Call of Duty, and Infinity Ward alumni Respawn were expected to continue the trend. They won't be - Titanfall will not have a season pass.

Apparently the reason Titanfall ended up on Xbox One is because Sony was too quiet about what their plans for this generation were going to be.

Titanfall is still a few months away from launch, but that doesn't mean that development has finished on it. There's a beta incoming, and that'll probably result in a bit of tweaking, and what's the chance of a major shooter coming out without a day-one patch to follow? That's not all the Titanfall staff are working on though. EA, via an earnings call to investors, have revealed that DLC is already being worked on by Respawn.
