The latest NHL title from EA Sports is outstanding. After playing through a few games with various media members at X15 in Toronto, I realized I really was playing an improved NHL game. To be fair, for NHL 16 to be better than the first NHL release on current generation consoles is not very difficult. NHL 15 played great, but lacked features previous titles had. NHL 16 fixes all of that.

If you read our Batman Arkham Knight review, you know that we absolutely loved it. The combat, vehicle game play, and story all worked really well together to create a Batman game like no other in the series. The experience is now getting an extension with a ton of new DLC coming to console soon.

If you haven't played the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, check out our review and go grab a copy. It is an excellent game, and the post launch support has been even better. The last of CD Projekt Red's free DLC packs are landing now, and one includes the ability to start the game over with all your levels and items carrying over with you.

At the very start of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a message sprawls across the screen informing the player that this game does not hold your hand and that through atmospheric exploration you will discover the truth. This statement could not be more true, and only moments into gameplay it is clear that you are on your own. With nearly open world investigation and a subtle storyline that does not force the player into doing things in any particular order, you are able to fully enjoy the experience of the world created. Assassin's Creed is undoubtedly one of the larger franchises in current video games, and can boast being one of the best AND one of the worst franchises to date. Most people were on board for Assassin's Creed when it first launched, and many praised it for the unique gameplay. Collecting flags - at least at that point - was a minor annoyance at best. Assassin's Creed was heralded by many as the next big thing.

The Developers of the popular, albeit frustrating game Chariot have taken things to a whole new, and frankly unnecessary, level. If you have lots of money to spend and too much time on your hands, you can now set up your gaming room for a heightened Chariot playing experience.

I think many of you have been waiting for this day for a long time - the 2015 edition of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) - to see what new additions to the gaming world we can spot. One of the games I was expecting the most was No Man's Sky - a virtually infinite universe filled with billions of worlds waiting to be explored.

The rising price of AAA video games at Canadian retail locations is making me wonder something: how long can consumers continue to pay the high price of games? Best Buy Canada and Amazon Canada have been offering a bunch of pre-order incentives for games announced at E3 2015. With a 5-10$ discount, these retailers are charging 64.99 - 69.99; that means the regular price on these titles is 74.99 - 79.99. With a 13% sales tax in Ontario, that means a brand new AAA tilte at full cost could set back consumers 90.00, or roughly 1/5 the price of an Xbox One or PS4.

A new Kings Quest title is here, and although it seems to veer away from the point and click game play from the original, the game still looks fantastic. For 9.99 an episode, or 39.99 for the season pass - which includes all episodes plus a bonus epilogue - is available for preorder on Xbox One and 360, PS4 and PS3, and PC. The first episode will be availabe for everything except the Microsoft consoles on July 28th (a day later, July 29 on Xbox One and 360).

Ubisoft's press conference lacked any real surprises until near the end, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Unfortunately for them, they had a tough Microsoft press conference to live up to. I think they did fairly well, despite the lack of 'exciting' announcements.
