Copycat is a narrative-driven indie game that offers a unique perspective on the world through the eyes of a shelter cat named Dawn. The game’s simple yet captivating gameplay allows players to experience a deeply personal story about friendship, loneliness, and finding one’s place in the world.

A Tale of Loss and Resilience

The story begins innocently enough, with Dawn living a comfortable life in a loving home. However, when her human companion falls ill, a stray cat (perhaps the original Dawn) takes her place, forcing Dawn onto the streets. As she navigates the unfamiliar world outside, Dawn grapples with feelings of abandonment and loss. Her journey is a poignant exploration of resilience and the enduring spirit of hope.

The entire experience took me about three hours (which I did in one sitting as I couldn’t pull myself away). I just wanted to play as a kitty, but I got SO MUCH MORE.
