Final Fantasy VIII Released on PC, Contains Chocobo World

Square Enix have today announced that they've released Final Fantasy VIII to PC. It's available to buy from Steam and other online retailers for £9.99, $11.99 and €12.99. While the release contains the usual PC stuff - achievements, cloud saves - this release is also noteworthy for another reason, a reason that may just get long-time fans to double dip: it contains the previously Japan-only Chocobo World mini-game.

Velocity Ultra due for PC Release Next Week

Velocity Ultra is probably one of the better Vita games, and it received the attention and praise that it so deserved. It came to PlayStation 3 not too long ago, and, its next milestone, a PC release is just around the corner. Curve Studios, who are working on the port, have announced that Velocity Ultra will be coming to Steam on December 12th.

Call of Duty Introduces Robot Zombies in a Mode You’ll Never Play

Zombies mode, introduced in World at War and brought back for every Treyarch developed Call of Duty since, has become a staple of one of the biggest franchises in gaming, and one of the leading reasons some buy into the shooter every second year. Don't worry though. When you kill every zombie, cut through each piece of rotting flesh and are finally safe, there's another thing to worry about: Robot Zombies.

Well, after a rather explosive episode of The Walking Dead aired this week, I’m sure we’re all hoping to find some way of getting our franchise fix to tide us over until the show continues in February next year. “Coincidentally,” TellTale is on hand to provide. The Stanley Parable Review

Where do I begin? Where do I end? Where do I middle? When it comes to The Stanley Parable, there's no real way to review it, just as there is no real way to play it, or finish it, or even describe it on a basic level. In the spirit of The Stanley Parable, allow me to go a bit meta – when I write a review, I like to spend the first couple of paragraphs giving an overview of the game. The story, the setting, but here, there is no proper story, there is no proper setting. Do you see the quandary? Maybe there's only one way to review it...

LEGO The Hobbit Hitting Stores Next Year

Warner Bros. have today announced LEGO The Hobbit, a new LEGO game based in the world of Peter Jackson's latest epic fantasy trilogy. If LEGO Lord of the Rings is anything to go by, there'll be more than enough reference to JRR Tolkien's one-film-max 1937 novel as well.

Amnesia A Machine for Pigs Review

I’m sure when most people think of Amnesia they think of creatures popping out at them, chasing them and constantly trying to kill them. Well Amnesia A Machine for Pigs takes a completely different approach to scary, and in my opinion it works. So expect more of a looming feeling of uneasiness then pure outright terror that comes across as you play. It is unfortunate the amount of bad feedback this title has received because expectations were that of the last Amnesia title. I feel AMFP was a short and creepy experience with some brilliant story work intertwined.

Half-Life Remake Black Mesa: Source Can Now Be Sold On Steam

Black Mesa: Source, a fan project that remade the original Half-Life in high-definition, will soon be available to purchase on Steam. It’s currently available for free, but Valve was kind enough to let the developers sell the game on their digital-distribution service.  The icing on the cake was that Valve informed Black Mesa about this news on Half-Life’s 15th anniversary. Here’s project lead Carlos Montero’s forum post announcement:  HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY HALF-LIFE! We here at Black Mesa have some big…
