Out of the Park Baseball 14 Review

Unlike most iterative sports game series, the Out of the Park development team never rests on their laurels in the off season, making it one of the only sports titles worth purchasing on a yearly basis. Out of the Park Baseball 14 is no different: where OOTP13 received a number of cosmetic changes and feature additions, OOTP14 is about refinement, reworking a lot of the game's code and adding another layer of depth to its core gameplay mechanics – in other words, it's a completely different, new experience, something many other sports titles can't boast ...

AVG: 90% of Game Hacks will Infect Your Computer

If you’re not the sort of person who believes in fair play, there’s another reason you probably shouldn’t start searching for hacks on the internet. AVG have this morning released a press release warning that up to 90% of game hacks contain (or just are) malware.  From the press release: “Even if we assume that just 0.1% of the gamers playing the top five titles go looking for a hack – a highly conservative estimate – that means 330,000 people…

Death Inc. Resurrected Despite Kickstarter Disappointment

Death Inc., the rather lovely looking strategy game from Ambient Studios, has managed to find life after Kickstarter. The innovative title from a developer consisting of the people behind LittleBigPlanet, Burnout and Fable failed to scrape together even half of the $300,000 they needed from the crowd funding site, but have announced today that the game will be released anyway. And the good news? If you pre-purchase, you’ll be able to play the alpha version of the game right now.…

Gravi Review

Gravi is a puzzle platformer, not entirely like the well-loved Super Meat Boy. Like Super Meat Boy, it pits your mind and reflexes against sharp objects, dangerous pitfalls and molten lava. Like Super Meat Boy, your deaths are going far outnumber the amount of levels you complete. With 40 levels of mayhem, Gravi is a game that is bound to keep genre fans' attention.

Age of Empires II HD Review

There's a fine line when re-releasing a title, between making modern and leaving a kind of older charm. The team behind Age of Empires II HD have decided not to even approach that line. The risk of modernizing one of the greatest RTS games of all time was just too great. Depending on your take on this issue, you'll either applaud them for their conservative re-release or you'll find the game archaic and slow.

Borderlands 2 Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Review

Originally, Borderlands 2 was not designed with a level cap raise in mind – everything in development was geared towards maxing out at 50. So when thousands of Borderlands 2 gamers had multiple level 50 character a few months (or weeks, in many cases) after release, Gearbox found themselves in a bit of a conundrum: stick to their guns, or go back in and tinker with the math to add more levels?

Early Age of Empires II HD Buyer Reports Aren’t Good…

People who pre-ordered Age of Empires II HD now have access to the game, and although the game manages to be everything the nostalgic remember, that unfortunately means everything. It seems that this is a straight re-release, with a few graphical options added, and that no enhancements have been made whatsoever. That means that it feels like, for things like connecting to an online match, you’re still trying to play a nearly 15 year old game. On top of that,…
