One of the most successful game franchises of all time, The Sims, offers players the opportunity to build their own worlds filled with people of their creation whose lives and happiness rest in the palm of their hand. Whether you are creating massive family lineages, successfully raising your “Sim” through the ranks of a selected career, or watching your beloved Sim graduate college, you are in control of their every move and you have the power to give the best (or worst) life possible.

A few weeks back, I reviewed SteamWorld Dig on the Wii U. The game was so fantastic, I've now owned it on multiple different platforms including my Wii U for at home and 3DS for on the road. The game is that good. If you haven't picked it up, stop reading this useless announcement, grab the game and play it, and come back to read this at your convenience. After all, the release date for their next title isn't until Spring 2015.

It is official. Mojang posted on their own website that, "Yes, the deal is real. Mojang is being bought by Microsoft." This is probably great news for Microsoft as purchasing a giant such as Minecraft is bound to make them a lot more than they spent. One thing Microsoft isn't getting, however, is the brilliant mind of Minecraft creator, Notch.

Deep Silver have today announced the release date for their upcoming "third-person single-player survival mystery spin-off" Escape Dead Island. Although announced only quite recently, fans can expect to get their hands on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC title sooner than expected.

Global Outbreak Doomsday Edition is another mobile port that was free for phones and tablets, but now you can pay real money for the privilege of having it on your PC. At least it’s much better than most mobile games that find their way to Steam.

Pool has been a regular target for developers over the years. It's definitely a simple idea to pull of, and it's always popular, but there are many games out there that capture the sport itself, but not the atmosphere surrounding it. Pure Pool tries to go beyond what you might expect.

Naval combat is sorely underdone in video games for a multitude of reasons. The sea isn't perhaps the most engaging of environments, due in no small part to the over-abundance of blue, and actually having your boats interact with it realistically is a challenge. Does 'Victory At Sea' bring enough to the table to provide us the spectacle and awe that naval combat deserves?

Obsidian have posted an advertisement looking for an experienced character designer for an MMORPG they're working on. Although the job description doesn't give much in the way of information, it does say that the art design is "highly stylized," so expect something a little unusual. There's also potential good news for fans of time travel.

The human race enjoys a good bit of drama, which is why the allegations against Zoe Quinn and the cast of the Usual Suspects is crashing internet forums and causing controversy up and down. The game at the heart of all this, Depression Quest, is still relatively ignored, despite tens of thousands of people obsessing over its creator.

There are a lot of free to play MMORPG's out there, some require you to pay just to do some mindless things and others have dull combat that rely on hot keys and very precise statistics. I was never able to get into these types of games, they focused to much on knowing everything about the game. Luckily Sony Online Entertainment had made a free-to-play MMORPG that had interesting combat and no impossible to understand statistics. This is a game that immerses you into the DC universe and you truly feel like you are playing as a real DC superhero.
