Nintendo posted a special, yet short, Nintendo Direct today. In it, they outlined a number of current and new games coming to Wii U and 3DS this year. There was even a special amiibo announcement. Here are the details on today's announcements. We will cover each of these titles when they become available. For now, enjoy these few details we have received from a Nintendo Press release today!

We have had a wonderful relationship with Nintendo for well over a year now. They are great at answering questions, inviting us to events, and providing us with copies of games for review. Certain games are either free-to-play, meaning we don't need to wait for a review copy, or Nintendo simply doesn't have copies available for certain things.

Being in media, it is my job to know whats going on with Nintendo. So obviously, I felt a little out-of-the-loop when a review code for Fossil Fighters: Frontiers for 3DS come across my desk. Nintendo is taking another step in the right direction this week as they begin to roll out new purchasing options for Nintendo Wii U and 3DS owners. Essentially, Nintendo owners can now do almost everything Xbox and PS4 owners have been able to do for years when it comes to purchasing games via a computer or smart phone.

Nintendo has hit its stride in the last month and they continue the success with more announcements today, including 3DS Smash Bros sales numbers, and release dates for upcoming games and Amiibo figures.

Nintendo has huge plans for the next four months, both on 3DS and Wii U. Some big games are coming to both systems, so I figured I would let you in on what is coming, what you should pre-order, and perhaps what you might want to hold off buying.

You get a lot of copycat app games out there and most of them are lazy garbage. Now we have Micromon, a clone of Pokémon, which in all honesty is probably one of the better “influenced by” games out there. While there’s nothing even remotely original about it, I will give it credit for trying really hard to live up to the lofty quality of its originator.

Nintendo has a new character. Well, they actually have a new variation of an old character. If you've been a lifetime Nintendo fan, you might remember Toad as that annoying guy who was always scared in Super Mario RPG on the SNES, or the fellow who just stood around in the castle offering up stars and advice in Super Mario 64 on the N64. Toad has come a long way over the years, and despite maintaining his reputation for being frightened, he's even been given his own title to gloat about.
