More Thoughts From Me #12: Staying Earthbound

Earthbound is one of my favorite Super Nintendo rpgs, if not my favorite of all time. I liked the game back when I wasn’t a fan of role playing games. I’ve bought Earthbound three times now: SNES, Wii U, and New 3DS. Why do I keep coming back to this game? I didn’t like any of the NES or SNES Final Fantasy games the first time I played them. What can I say? I was young and foolish. I did,…

Earthbound Has Arrived on the New 3DS eshop Today!

I’ve bought Earthbound three times now! I bought it when it first came out on the SNES, I bought it when it came to the Wii U, and now I’ve bought it on the New 3DS. The game arrived on the New 3DS today! Will you be picking it up? Earthbound came out on the New 3DS eshop today in North America. The game is also available on the Wii U. Nintendo has been giving the Earthbound games a lot…

Nintendo UK Takes A Look At The History of Star Fox

I still own Star Fox for the SNES. I never did own Star Fox 64 on the 64 because I didn’t have that system. I did buy the game on the Wii however and played the 3DS remake of the game! I’m a huge fan of the Star Fox franchise, especially when its a full on spaceship shooter. In a new video, Nintendo UK took a look at the History of Star Fox. We should do that too! I’ll tell…

A Fate Filled with Conquest: A Look At Fire Emblem Fates Conquest

I’ve played a few Fire Emblem games in the past and liked them, but I’ve never been addicted to one before. I recently bought Fire Emblem Fates Conquest and I can’t stop playing the game! I decided to get Fire Emblem Fates Conquest because my dad already had Birthright. I wanted to see what the other path was about and figured I could borrow dad’s copy of Birthright later. I had no idea what Conquest would be about and just…

More Thoughts From Me #11: Thank you Nindies!

I’ve reviewed a lot of Indie games in my short time as a reviewer so far. Some are great, some good, just ok, and some are really awful. But the Wii U needs every single Indie it can get! Why are Indies important to the Wii U? Let me tell you about it.   When the Wii U first came out, there were not a lot of games for it, but there were some third party developers supporting the system.…

Hyrule Warriors Legends Review

Outside of a few consistent releases - I'm thinking primarily of the Mario and Sonic titles - many Nintendo games don't find a home on both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. However, the Hyrule Warriors title - a spin off of the Dragon Warriors series - has landed on both. While the 3DS does have more content than the Wii U version, is it necessarily worth purchasing on handheld, or for a second time? We think so!

Microsoft Working on Digital Trade Ins?

A survey from Microsoft which popped up on Reddit today indicated that the video game and software company was toying with the idea of offering a trade-in for digital purchases. While the trade in amount would not be much – a mere 10% if the survey is to believed – it would be better than nothing if you truly don’t want to play the game anymore. On a 60.00 game, consumers would only be getting 6 dollars back. Ideally, the…

A Grand Adventure Awaits in Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale

I’ve never played a Story of Seasons game before. I have played several of the Harvest Moons and one of the Rune Factory games though. So I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started up Return to PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale for the 3DS. Would it be like Harvest Moon or Rune Factory?   Return of PopoloCrois: A Story of Seasons Fairytale is an RPG first and foremost. The game does have a farming element, much like…

Pokken Tournament Review

Do you love Pokemon? Do you love fighting games? If so, you’ll want to read my review of Pokken Tournament! Pokken’s story doesn’t get in the way of its fights and that’s the most important thing about it. I wouldn’t say that the story is a major plus or minus against the game. Basically, the story is interesting enough that you’ll want to see what’s going to happen, but its also a good thing that there isn’t more to it…

Two Heads Are Better Than One In Pokken Tournament For Wii U

One of the things I like best about fighting games are the multiplayer modes. I especially enjoy local two-player games because both of my parents are video games fans and both of them enjoy fighting with me! Pokken Tournament, thankfully, has an two-player mode that is a lot of fun. I’ll tell you a little bit about it. My mom likes Pokemon. I don’t think she’d ever be a fan of the rpg Pokemon games, but she likes the free…
