Friend of the site, Abdallah (Twitter, YouTube) was at PAX South over the last few days, and besides doing a panel, he was all over the floor checking out the Nintendo Switch. I would normally have numerous impressions for PAX (although I'm partial to PAX East because of my location!) I'm (fortunately...unfortunately?) on vacation for the next couple weeks. From all account, the Nintendo Switch event in Toronto was a fantastic experience for those lucky enough to attend. It all kicked off Friday for a press and VIP event with minimal crowds and lots of accsess to some of the biggest games coming to the Nintendo Switch around launch. I love the idea of amiibo cards. It could be seen as a trading card game, but with characters from popular Nintendo franchises that serve a purpose in the games they represent. Nintendo has done a great job with the amiibo cards for Animal Crossing, and according to Nintendo, they will be rolling out new amiibo cards in 2017...for Mario.
