Sea of Thieves: Fun, But for How Long?

Ever since RARE launched the Sea of Thieves Alpha a number of months ago, I have been jumping into the game and trying it out during each alpha session. With the official Beta launch - and more people sailing the seven seas - it was time to begin judging Sea of Thieves in a more critical light. How does this hold up? How much fun is it really? What is there to do without leveling and upgrading? The beta has handled a ...

Heading West: A Look At World to the West for Nintendo Switch

I really liked Teslagrad on the Wii U. The graphics were very good and the gameplay was a lot of fun. The developer of that game, Rain Games, has a new game out now for the Nintendo Switch: World to the West. The game is set in the same universe as Teslagrad, however the gameplay and graphics are very different. I received a review copy of World to the West recently. My review isn’t ready yet but I thought I…

More Thoughts From Me #104: SNES Classic Hands-on Impressions

I tried and failed to get an NES Classic. Then the SNES Classic came out and I failed to get that too. I thought I’d never get either one of them. Vanishing of Ethan Carter Review Xbox One Update

At the very start of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, a message sprawls across the screen informing the player that this game does not hold your hand and that through atmospheric exploration you will discover the truth. This statement could not be more true, and only moments into gameplay it is clear that you are on your own. With nearly open world investigation and a subtle storyline that does not force the player into doing things in any particular order, you are able to fully enjoy the experience of the world created. A beautiful game at heart, it was ...
