Dead Island 2 Beta is PS4 Exclusive for 30 Days
If you bought Escape Dead Island and plan to play the Dead Island 2 beta on PS4, you’re in luck – you’ll get it a month earlier than anybody else.
To say that the Dead Island 2 beta is a muted affair would be an understatement. People just aren’t talking about it, at all. Perhaps that’s why it’s not common knowledge that the zombie-smashing trial run will be available on PS4 a full month before it’s playable on Xbox One and PC.
From the FAQ on the official Dead Island 2 page:
NOTE: THOSE WHO HAVE SELECTED PS4 AS THEIR PLATFORM OF CHOICE FOR THE DEAD ISLAND 2 BETA WILL RECEIVE ACCESS 30 DAYS BEFORE XBOX ONE AND PC USERS.
THE LAUNCH DATE FOR THE BETA HAS NOT BEEN ANNOUNCED YET. WE WILL EMAIL YOU WITH YOUR TOKEN TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO KICKOFF. TIMING OF THE EMAIL WILL BE BASED ON WHICH PLATFORM YOU HAVE SELECTED
YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR SELECTED PLATFORM. TO DO SO GO TO HTTP://WWW.DI2BETA.COM/INDEX.PHP AND ENTER THE ORIGINAL CODE FOUND ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR ESCAPE DEAD ISLAND RECEIPT AND CLICK SUBMIT.
Whether this hints at further exclusivity further down the line is yet to be seen, although there’s no doubt that Deep Silver and Sony have opened the gates to the possibility of extra PS4 content.
