Some Xbox 360 Users Getting Killer Instinct Free
Some Xbox 360 users will be getting the full version of Killer Instinct on Xbox One for free. That means they get the full set of characters at no extra cost.
The basic game, available to everybody and effectively a demo, has only one playable character which will change every so often. Players will be able to buy other characters or invest in a full set, which also contains extra costumes and an emulated version of the original Killer Instinct. As an idea, you can’t knock it, but getting it free would be far more preferable, I’m sure.
So what do you need to do to get a free version of Killer Instinct?
At this point – nothing. It seems they’ve been sent out and there may not be any more. Check your spam.
Even the reason that those that received them did so seems pretty vague. A Microsoft rep posted the following via Twitter:
@Futterish We considered a variety of things like Gamerscore, LIVE tenure, & other factors in markets where #XboxOne is available.

It’s great to see Microsoft send out a few rewards to their long-time fans, and it’ll certainly do something towards ensuring maximum spending alongside the Xbox One when it launches later this month.
