Velocity Ultra Coming to Steam
Velocity Ultra is coming to Steam, FuturLab have today announced. The top-rated Vita title was previously exclusive to the Sony handheld and is now coming to both PlayStation 3 and PC.
Not to worry, Velocity purists. This isn’t going to be a half-assed cash-in port.
From the FuturLab blog:
We hope to make our contribution count by making sure Velocity Ultra feels like a true PC title, with fully customisable controls, Steamworks integration and excellent HD graphics. We’re working very closely with Curve to make sure the PC edition has as much love and care put into it as the PlayStation versions.
The actual porting process will be handled by Curve Studios, the same people handing the port to PlayStation 3. The Steam version will have trading cards, leaderboards and achievements, and will have (almost) everything you’d expect from a PC game. You’ll be able to tweak the controls to your heart’s content, and of course it’s bound to look gorgeous in full HD on the latest hardware.
Velocity Ultra PC will be available for purchase “some time between now and New Years Eve.” That seems terribly vague, but in its FAQ, Curve says the game is already running at full HD without issue.
