PlayStation 4 Trophies Come with a Rarity Rating
Trophies are awesome. We’re all (pretty much) agreed on that now. Whether you see them as proof of your gaming prowess or simply as a check list towards everything a game has to offer, there’s a good chance that the trophy has, in one way or another, changed the way you play. A minor change in the way trophies are displayed on PlayStation 4 might make your collection look even better than before.
The rarity of PlayStation trophies isn’t a new thing. You’ve been able to check how common or uncommon your trophies are via PSNProfiles and the like for quite some time. Now they’re becoming a little more official, attached to each and ever trophy viewable on your PlayStation 4.
Are you in the minority of people who got the platinum for The Last of Us? That’ll now be displayed when you look at The Last of Us in the trophy tab. Slid down the firemans pole in Ghostbusters, just like everybody else? You’ll see 99.99% of people did the same thing.
It’s an interesting metric, and one that’s going to show you just how your gaming habits differ from those of your friends.
While each trophy retains their bronze, silver, gold, platinum ratings, the fluid rarity rating will change over time, and will no doubt make you feel very good, or very bad, about how far off the beaten track you tread.
