More Thoughts From Me #197: The State of Animal Crossing

I’m not the President of Animal Crossing (though I wish I was) but I’m going to give a State of Animal Crossing address anyway. When is New Horizons coming out? Do I play that cellphone app? Am I still playing New Leaf? Are you still playing New Leaf? What’s next for Animal Crossing?

My fellow Animal Crossing players! Ask not what Animal Crossing can do for you….ask what you can do for Animal Crossing!

Okay just kidding. Animal Crossing is my all-time favorite game. On a top favorite game list, any system, any genre, any publisher, Animal Crossing would always win out for me. My current favorite is Animal Crossing New Leaf. I am obsessed with Animal Crossing.

For instance, I still play Animal Crossing New Leaf every day. I also think about Animal Crossing New Horizons on every half-hour. Maybe more.  I would make the perfect President of Animal Crossing if there was such a thing.

Well, yes, JVGS Jeff has me beat because he still plays all the other games. So yes, he’d be the Animal Crossing president…sigh.

But I would at least be in the cabinet I think…oh lets back away from this metaphor quickly while we still have time.

I am so ready for Animal Crossing New Horizons. I wish Nintendo would tease us already. We have four more months to go. The game doesn’t come out until March 20, 2020. Please tease us Nintendo!

And you know what, there are signs that they may start teasing us soon. Recently a Pocket Camp twitter account was made by Nintendo. The official Animal Crossing twitter account announced that Pocket Camp would get its own twitter. Not only that but the description of the official twitter account was changed to say that it’ll be talking about New Horizons! The Pocket Camp twitter doesn’t become active until next month, so the regular Animal Crossing twitter will be talking about the cellphone game until December.

Pretty exciting stuff right? I wonder what new thing we’ll find out about first!

Meanwhile, I just wanted to clear something up: I am not a cellphone gamer. Not even Animal Crossing, which I love, could get me to play a cellphone app. I avoid cellphones like the plague.

I still play New Leaf. I think about New Horizons all the time. I am so ready for this game. You could release it early Nintendo. Come on. I know you want to.
