Kingdom Hearts 2.5 English Fandub Does what Square Enix Didn’t
A fan has done what Square Enix didn’t – taken the English lines from Kingdom Hearts 2, Birth By Sleep and Re:Coded and placed them into the trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX. It gives a much better glimpse of what we should be expecting when the second HD collection launches next year.
It’s fair to say that some random person on YouTube (in this case, Everglow8444) has an easier job of it than Square Enix in releasing content like this. They don’t need to catch up with actors, check through contracts, wrangle music rights… they literally open up a program, rip the audio, put in a music track and then hunt down the lines. If you already had a good source on the lines, it’d take a couple of hours, at most. The result is as good, if not better, than the video Square Enix would have released, without all the red tape that comes with being a big corporation.
With that said, the English dialogue sounds a little less urgent than that of the original trailer, a little cheesier. There’s something about that delivery that just doesn’t sound as exciting as it did this morning. Never mind though, it’ll all be as great as it ever was when it’s back in context and in our PS3 consoles this time next year.
