Super Mario Maker has Day 1 Update
If you read our Super Mario Maker review, you will see that we loved the game. It does almost everything right, and very VERY few things wrong. While it’s less a game and more a giant creation tool, it will easily become on of the best games available on Wii U.
Our biggest gripe with the game was the length of time it took to unlock everything in the game. For reviewers, it took 9 days to unlock all of the placeable items. At the end of the day, I said it was an annoyance but that it wasn’t horrible, as I still got lost with the minimal tools I had.
Nintendo has listened to the community and removed the 9 day wait period. Instead, it appears as if shipments are delivered based on the number of items you have placed in the level construction phase. This has not yet been confirmed, but should be as people begin playing the retail build today.
Super Mario Maker launches in North America today (September 11, 2015) alongside a new 8-Bit Mario amiibo that unlocks special bonuses within the game. When you are done with a level and it is online, feel free to share your ID’s with us via email or on twitter! We will post our favorites on social media for everyone to enjoy!
