New Ground Zeroes Gameplay, English Version Coming Soon
Hideo Kojima and Konami have revealed some new Ground Zeroes gameplay at TGS this morning. It shows off what an actual sneaking mission may be like, without any fast forwards or pre-played gameplay. This is as close as we’ll get to actually playing the game for what may be some time, so this is definitely one to cherish.
The video, uploaded by YouTuber GamesHQMedia, is about 12 and a half minutes long, and shows Snake infiltrating a base, marking enemies (which he can later see on a map), using his binoculars, driving a vehicle and tossing guards at one another. The graphics are beautiful and smooth, and it seems this video may have been made from a PlayStation 4. The tranquillizer, of course, makes a return.
The mission has Snake rescuing a PoW, but it’s not as easy as finding him and using the Folton Recovery System this time round. You have to mark where the helicopter will pick you up from and then charge across the base as quickly and as silently as possible, PoW on your back.
There was also confirmation today that we’ll be getting English versions of both the TGS trailer and last year’s Phantom Pain trailer some time over the next few days. These will star Kiefer Sutherland, and we’ll also manage to get a first look at the person playing Skullface. Most importantly, at least according to Kojima, we’ll get to hear Sutherland say “Kept you waiting, huh?!”
