More Thoughts From Me #187: Link Is Almost Awake
Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening comes out this Friday! I previously wrote about the game in the column. This time I’d like to focus on some of the stuff we’ve learned about since I last wrote about the game and why Link’s Awakening will be a must have game for Nintendo Switch!
Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will be out for the Nintendo Switch this Friday! Are you excited about it yet?! You should be!
Not only is Link’s Awakening a remake of the Gameboy/Gameboy Color classic but it will be adding a really cool new feature to the game.
The new feature is a dungeon remixer. This may be the closest we ever get to a Legend of Zelda Maker! In Link’s Awakening, you will collect pieces of dungeons that you’ve beaten. Then you can go to a specific place in the game and remix different dungeon rooms into new dungeons. You can play these dungeons yourself or have a friend try them out. Also if you have the new Link’s Awakening amiibo, you can put a remixed dungeon on it and use the amiibo on a friend’s Switch so they can try your dungeon out. Pretty cool right?
The Link’s Awakening remake also updates all of the game’s mini-games, such as the fishing mini-game. That looks really cool. Though I am a sucker for a good fishing mini-game!
Link’s Awakening on the Switch also brings back all of the Mario references, from boos to a Yoshi doll to underground 2D sidescrolling areas, you will be playing a Zelda game that loves Mario games.
Without a doubt, Link’s Awakening is a must have game for Switch. Not only does it update a classic Gameboy game with amazing Claymation like graphics, but it also features new content and plenty of fun distractions!
Link’s Awakening is going to be a blast!
Will you buy Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening this Friday? What part of the game are you looking forward to the most?
Next week: We learned more details about the Final Fantasy 7 Remake recently. I’ll talk about whats been revealed and why I’m so excited for this remake!
More Thoughts From Me is an opinion column. The thoughts expressed here are mine and mine alone. After you get done with the new Link’s Awakening, you should still try out the original.
