Disney Infinity 3.0: Fun in the Toy Box
The Disney Infinity 3.0 play sets are excellent fun, and we will be reviewing each of those shortly. The Toy Box, however, is where players will experience the most fun and the most frustration. Despite a difficult learning curve, there is a lot to like in the Disney Infinity 3.0 Toy Box, even if it’s just downloading and playing the creations of other people. Unlike other toy-to-life games like Skylanders, there really is an unlimited replayability with the Infinity franchise, a reason why we suggest picking this up for all of your children’s toy-to-life needs.
I’m terrible at creating levels. It is not something I’m ashamed of, since most people I talk to are equally as bad. But when you lack the creative mind to build something truly amazing, the Toy Box mode may seem unappealing to you. Give it a chance. If you write off the Toy Box only because you feel you lack the mindset to create something exciting or innovative, or perhaps you feel you don’t have the patience, don’t just pass it over. There are so many amazing creators out there already making hundreds of levels for people to explore and play. Even the creators at Disney have made a few of there own levels to share. And this is where the Toy Box can become exciting. You can take somoene elses pre-made world and alter it to fit your play style. Have a big town to explore but don’t feel like flying around it with a Marvel super hero? Place a car! Perhaps add a few ramps! In fact, make a game out of it. Create some space, build a ramp, and set up something that could mimic bowling pins and you have your own game of vehicle bowling! You can do that, and so much more in the Toy Box.
A few people just won’t be satisfied playing someone else’s creations, or even working through all the packed in Toy Box stuff that Disney has provided, which includes very basic tutorials on driving, building, fighting, and even side kick training – because who doesn’t want the annoying Fixit Felix as a side kick! There are many resources available on the internet to get your started in the Toy Box, and if you spend enough time with the various YouTube tutorials that are available, you can quickly become a master yourself. In my opinion, whether you are building outside Toy Boxes or working on your interiors, the people at DisneyInfinity.TV are the best at providing helpful tips, videos, and more to budding Toy Box creators.
If you pick up Disney Infinity 3.0 just for the play sets, you are missing out on something amazing. Do yourself a favor and spend ample time within the Toy Box, whether creating something of your own, manipulating something someone else has made, or just playing in someone else’s world, take the time to explore all that is has to offer. While some of the menues will prove difficult to traverse, taking time to examine all the pieces you have will only help when you try to create innovative, and sometimes themed Toy Boxes.
