Three Street Fighter II Games Coming to Wii U
Street Fighter II: The World Warrior, Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers will all be coming to the Wii U Virtual Console this week, at least Nintendo seem to reckon so.
Spotted by Neogaf user Oni Link 666, the Nintendo pages (linked above) all seem to suggest that the three Street Fighter II games will be released on August 22nd, that’s this Thursday. They’ll be $7.99 each and will be available to purchase via the Wii U’s store.
It seems odd that they’d release them in a bunch like this, but even if the release dates are off, these are pages on the official Nintendo website, so it’s fair to presume they’re not been put up by accident. Each game even has a specially designed trailer showing the game working on the Wii U tablet.
If you’re looking for a fix of old school fighting on your Wii U, it’s looking that this may well be your week. Each contains support for multiplayer – naturally – so you’ll even be able to beat your friends, sat next to you, just like in the nineties.
This hasn’t been officially announced by Capcom yet, who recently said that Street Fighter probably wouldn’t make it to the Wii U. I guess that turned out to be untrue.
