Quiet Summer equals Big Fall? Nintendo Fans Hope So
Outside of Splatoon updates, Nintendo has done very little these past few months. Most people would come to the conclusion that their E3 press conference left a lot to be desired, and very little in way of new titles this summer has made few people forget that. Nintendo has had a disappointing Summer 2015, but this could mean bigger and better things this fall.
Nintendo is about to get back into the swing of things again, and quickly. With high profile titles coming from Nintendo staple franchises – Mario, Animal Crossing, and Pokemon – the lead into Christmas 2015 seems promising.
Nintendo is banking on these titles being well received. Mario Maker will be a hit, no doubt about it, but Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer is a wild card in my opinion, as is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, a series that has its own niche following. With the sales of those titles will be hard to predict, Nintendo really needs games like Yoshi’s Wholly World to perform well at retail. Without a few big – popular, sales wise – titles leading into Christmas 2015, it will be hard for individuals to justify their Wii U purchase, although it should be noted that if they haven’t made the plunge by now, they likely won’t anytime soon!
Have you felt let down by Nintendo this summer?
