New Metal Gear Game Coming This Year
It seems there will be a new Metal Gear game coming this year. Whether it’ll be a Ground Zeroes or something completely different is anybody’s guess – but you’ll be waiting for a long time for The Phantom Pain either way.
In a tweet from analyst David Gibson, he revealed that Konami are planning to announce a new game in the franchise very shortly, although The Phantom Pain won’t be available to purchase until 2015.
Konami – still saying smaller Metal Gear coming this year (to be announced soon) while TPP title wont be until FY end Mar 2015

Leading theories at this point range from Ground Zeroes – which was always meant as a prologue to The Phantom Pain, although exact details of how that would work have never been released – or Metal Gear Solid HD, which was spoken about earlier this year. In the latter’s case, it’s possible that, if it were literally just a HD buff up, they could have it done on a limited schedule. If they were to add new bits and pieces and re-record audio and such – which they’d need to do – it doesn’t seem likely.
And so this is one that we leave to Konami to answer, probably at Gamescom. They have an unannounced title there. It may end up a handheld game, but so long as it isn’t a spin-off (Metal Gear Ac!d 3), I’m sure it’ll be fantastic.
