LittleBigPlanet Hub Causes Confusion for PlayStation Fans
The announcement for LittleBigPlanet Hub was really quite vague, and although things have now been a little better clarified, there are still a lot of people who just don’t know what it is. Comment sections across the web – especially on the PlayStation upload of the official trailer at YouTube – are filled with people collectively saying “huh?”
That’s not to say that they’re not excited. Avengerramkuuchiha pretty confidently sums up the general attitude in a single comment: “When will it be released whatever this is … I want it”
Even the press seem unsure of what exactly the LittleBigPlanet hub will entail, with several websites, VideoGamer.com being one of them, saying that it’s a free-to-play social hub that’ll be released this year and little else, pending updates and confirmation from Sony.
LittleBigPlanet Hub works as a developer spotlight of sorts. You’re not suddenly going to get access to every community level. Instead, MediaMolecule will highlight the top levels for your enjoyment. There will be social elements, not least the challenges, which will also be updated weekly by the developers.
There are still a few things that are unclear. Hub comes with a number of levels from the original PS3 games, but will the others be purchasable by world, or will it be all or nothing? Do unlocks from other games transfer across, or will it only be purchased material that transcends title? Even the release date is a mystery.
With that said, if you go off the Stephen Fry-narrated trailer alone, you can see why some people may just be a little confused.
