GTAV digital version might be delayed on US PlayStation Store
The release date for GTAV is now listed as the 19th of September on the American PlayStation Store. Two days later than originally planned.
Hopefully this is yet another mistake by Sony, but one which may be slightly worrying for fans with pre-orders on Sony’s digital platform. After apologizing about the GTAV leak earlier this week, the last thing Sony wants is to upset Rockstar yet again by listing an incorrect release date. I wouldn’t worry about it too much just yet though. The game is still listed on the European Store with the correct date of 17th of September. I honestly can’t think of any reason why the US version would get delayed by two days, whereas the EU version gets released on schedule.
It is of course possible that the recent hacking of the pre-load has forced Sony to do a bit of tweaking behind the scenes, which may explain the two days extension, but even that is highly unlikely.
Until Rockstar themselves announce any kind of delay to digital releases, it’s safe to assume this is a simple case of clerical error on Sony’s part.
The delay was spotted by a fan over at Reddit.
Grand Theft Auto V releases worldwide on PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th.
