Gamestop restocks rare game. Collectors screaming scam.
Gamestop have stocked up on used copies of the extremely rare XenoBlade Chronicles for the Wii. However many suspect the games aren’t used at all.
Due to the game being exclusive to GameStop and the Nintendo Store, and also because only a small number of copies were ever made, XenoBlade Chronicles for the Wii is currently one of the most sought after games. Video game collectors are prepared to shell out big bucks for the rare title. It’s not uncommon for people to spend over $100 for a used copy.
This week however, Gamestop have announced that they have received a shipment of used copies and are charging $89.99 for each one, making it the most expensive used game currently available at the store.
However, reports from members over at NeoGaf suggest the retailer have reprinted a couple thousand copies of the game without its plastic shrink wrap to sell at the higher price range that the used games are going at. As further proof many members are pointing out that the game is included with unused Nintendo Codes and that both the game disc and game case are as good as new.
Something does seem a bit suspect about it all. However, Gamestop have yet to respond to any complaints or questions on the subject.
