Bioshock Coming to iPhone
Bioshock, the underwater shooter that had everybody on the internet using the phrase “would you kindly” at bemused non-gamers, is coming to iPhone and iPad. Yes, you read that correctly: one of the most notable console experiences of last generation is going to be entirely playable on your iOS device. It can’t be a joke, it isn’t even April.
Not to say that there’s anything necessarily wrong with bringing a game to iOS, it’s just that, aside from XCOM: Enemy Unknown (which rather suited the touch interface), there’s never really been a port of this scale before. It’ll probably be handled quite nicely, it’s visually strong enough anyway, but is there an audience waiting to play this game on a phone when it could easily be played on a console?
You can work out how the controls will work from the picture above, but if you’re one of those people investing in an MFi controller, you’ll be able to play Bioshock with that as well. It’s already being called a “premium priced” app, so you probably won’t be buying this for a dollar – no surprises there. More information will come, although considering the tentative release date of “Summer,” you probably won’t be waiting too long to try it out.
