Russian TV News Use MGS V Image for piece on Child Soldiers
A Russian TV news channel has earlier this week used a series of images from MGS V in a conversation on child soldiers. Sophie Shevardnadze and the Russia Today network ran the images as part of an interview with child soldiers, seemingly unaware that they’re computer generated.
During an interview with Emmanuel Jal, hip-hop artist and former child soldier, the producers of the show repeatedly use images from the trailers released for MGS V: The Phantom Pain. Although we can’t embed the video here, you can watch the full episode of Sophie Co at the official RT website, and you’ll also be able to see the transcript. The gif above (put together by Sn4ke_911 at Neogaf) can be seen at around the 18:10 mark. There are other images used within the episode.
For those interested in either MGS and its themes or the plight of small children around the world, the interview is absolutely fascinating and definitely worth a watch. It shows that there’s always a truth to the fiction, but also that it isn’t the be all and end all of a persons existence. If you don’t want to miss it, you can download the video from the link above.
