PlayStation 4 release date leaked?
The release date for the highly sought after PlayStation 4 has been a burning question on everyone’s mind since Sony chose not to announce it at E3 back in June. Of course this didn’t stop people from speculating when the console will hit the stores and in fact many sites have since reported a possible date for its release. Back in June, Gamechup reported a likely November 13th release date based on a poster spotted at MediaMart in the Nederlands. Then last week Playstation Lifestyle suggested a late October/early November release using a Walmart description as support of this.
All of which are rumours with no actual confirmation from Sony themselves, of course, but earlier today yet more ‘evidence’ has surfaced which again suggests a November 13th release for Europe. PS4.sx have updated their site with a countdown timer to the elusive PS4 release date. The timer is pointing towards a November 13th date (the same date previously reported by GameChup). Did they simply use the date that was shown in the dutch MediaMart poster, perhaps as a placeholder (unlikely with it being so specific) or do they know something we don’t?
November 13th does make sense however. The PS3 was released in that same week back in 2006, just in time for the Christmas rush (albeit in America).
This is all still very much a rumour, and until it comes from Sony themselves all we can do is speculate. Hopefully, an official statement from Sony will come during GamesCom in August.
