Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Comes with a new 30 Minute Episode
According to the latest issue of Jump, the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Collection comes with a brand new 30 minute episode.
No information has been revealed so far (or at least, nothing has made it to an English translation), aside from the fact that it’s being written by Nojima and that it’ll last half an hour. There are several presumptions that it’s fair to make: the original voice actors almost certainly should return, the new clip will take place after Final Fantasy X-2 (probably after getting the best ending) and that it’ll be a great reason to get diehard Final Fantasy fans to rebuy the HD Collection, as if they weren’t going to otherwise.
Those are all presumptions though and are yet to be confirmed. The 30 minutes may take place after Final Fantasy X, it might use Japanese voices or be just text…
Some seem worried that it might end up being a teaser for Final Fantasy X-3, or are jokingly suggesting that Final Fantasy X might somehow be linked with XIII, and that the new ending will see Lightning burst out of time and space, with the single goal of ruining everybody’s good time.
Square Enix had previously said that they’d be presenting the games as they always were, for the sake of nostalgia, and this new episode may just be enough to put down the idea of excitement for the sake of nostalgia alone. It won’t hurt, I suppose, to tack a little extra story onto the back of the collection.
Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD will be available at the end of the year. More details will no doubt be shared by Square Enix over the coming months.
