Crash Bandicoot 5: Unmade Game Revealed by Former Developer
News broke today that a new Crash Bandicoot game, unofficially titled “Crash Bandicoot 5,” was in development but ultimately cancelled. This revelation came from artist Nicholas Kole, previously with Toys for Bob, while discussing another cancelled project he’d been working on.
Fans initially believed the scrapped project, codenamed “Project Dragon,” might have been a new Spyro game. However, Kole clarified it wasn’t Spyro-related and wasn’t being developed at Toys for Bob. He then surprised everyone by mentioning the cancelled Crash Bandicoot 5.
Details about Crash 5’s development timeframe, studio, and cancellation reasons remain unknown. Some speculate that sales of Crash Bandicoot 4 might have played a role. While not matching the N. Sane Trilogy’s success, Crash 4 was considered “well received” and sold over five million copies, according to design director Toby Schadt.
