Cheater wins Greatness Awaits Bidding
The Bid For Greatness promo being held by Sony seemed like such a great idea in theory. Gamers who spent the last 5 years putting an (often) insane amount of effort into earning trophies now have a way to spend those hard earned Gold trophies by bidding on PlayStation memorabilia used in the Greatness Awaits Promo Commercial. Or at least, that was the plan.
After its very first day the contest has already hit a snag with cheaters/hackers boosting their Gold trophy count to staggering heights so they can place a winning bid. Going by the PSN handle of redsoxfan95 the winner of yesterday’s Killzone: Shadow Hand Black Hand Outfit was in fact a hacker who ‘earned’ (I use that term very loosely there) the majority of his 14000+ trophies on Wednesday. Earning 7500 trophies in a single day. Credit goes to Chandler Wood from PlaystationLifestyle for spotting the cheat.
The trophy information along with statistics can be seen on PSNProfiles.com where the eagle eyed writer spotted many inconsistencies such as a Platinum trophy that was apparently earned 18 years ago.
The question now remains if Sony will still reward him his winning Killzone costume or if they’ll disqualify him (and hopefully all other cheats) from the contest.
The Greatness Awaits auction still has a week left with items such as a Skyrim Sword, Last Of Us Clicker costume and an Assassins Creed outfit standing by to be auctioned off.
As of now Sony have not responded to the cheating claims but the staggering amount of angry #Bidforgreatness tweets is hard to ignore.
