Boomerang Games Subscriptions Rise in Lovefilm’s Wake
Boomerang Games has had a new influx of business in the last few days, after Lovefilm announced it had stopped renting out video games to new subscribers (and would stop their video games service entirely in August).
Stephen, the Twitter face of Boomerang Games, has been asked multiple times if there was new business coming in since Lovefilms official announcement earlier this week.
I can see @boomeranggames getting a lot of new customers. I always preferred them to @LOVEFiLM anyway.

Video game rental certainly isn’t as easy as it was a few years ago, and there are really only a few options. We mentioned Boomerang in our Lovefilm Alternatives article from earlier in the week. I’ve since taken up the service and, so far, I have no complaints. It’s also nice to have person-to-person contact with someone who’s actually part of the company, as opposed to the outsourcing that Lovefilm did.
If nothing else, this goes to show that there’s still a definite market for video game rental out there, and that having to physically borrow things from a store isn’t necessarily the way to go. The only other Lovefilm alternative is Blockbuster, although that’s probably better for people that want to ditch Lovefilm but want to continue to borrow physical movies.
