2K Games Announces Battleborn
2k Games have announced Battleborn, which is described as a next-gen hero-shooter that will be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. From Gearbox, the creators of Borderlands, the CGI reveal trailer showed no gameplay, but focused on five different characters all presumably playable that aide each other in battle from an onslaught of seemingly endless enemies. The game is said to have both a co-operative campaign as well as competitive multiplayer matches and will feature a multitude of formidable heroes.
Battleborn is a first person shooter with RPG elements that all exist in a comic book like world that is dying. The trailer focused on a female archer and showcased her mobility through a jungle setting. For a brief moment, a first person view was shown as she used her bow on several mechanical-insect like creatures. She is then hit by a projectile and falls to the ground and a mechanical skeleton warrior dressed as a gentleman with full top hat and overcoat helps her up. He draws his cane (which is also a shotgun), and the two proceed to confront the horde that surrounds them. As they are inevitably outnumbered, three more heroes advance, including a female sword-mage that throws knives from her sword, a hulking giant with a chain gun, and finally a sword master that wields 3 swords. The trailer ends as the five heroes work together to take down enemies. No official date for the new Gearbox IP has been announced at this time, but a 2015 date is likely. More info will be available as Battleborn gets closer to release.
