Vice City Stories for PC Total Conversion Mod Released
Although the PS2-era Grand Theft Auto games are by and large available on pretty much any system you want to play them on, with two pretty major exceptions. Liberty City and Vice City Stories were PSP games that deepened the cities and stories behind Grand Theft Auto 3 and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. They got a PS2 port back in the day and were recently released via the PlayStation Store for download, but there’s another way of playing as well.
Vice City Stories: PC Edition is an ongoing port of the second Grand Theft Auto PSP title, currently in its third beta release. It’s a total conversion mod for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and currently contains the entire first chapter, much of the game engine’s capabilities and several side missions. It’s still in beta, but you can download the current build right now and check it out.
From the mod’s description:
“”Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories PC Edition” is a Total Conversion Modification for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, bringing you a port that Rockstar never gave you. In this modification we will be converting the map, all the characters, vehicles and weapons from the ORIGINAL game files as well as porting the games weather system and atmosphere. In this modification will also be a set amount of storyline missions and side missions which will increase with each BETA release, other things will also be available such as a redesigned menu, new neon lights, HUD, radio stations, etc as well as an attempt to look through the history of the game and bring back some BETA designs as a special bonus for you.”
