PS Vita Getting Fieldrunners 2 this summer

The sequel to the wildly successful tower defence game, Fieldrunners, is now confirmed to be in the “final stages of development” as stated by a post on the PlayStation blog.

This new addition to the series includes over 25 ingeniously designed towers… and I hear that guns can transform enemies into cows now… Well, that should satiate any beef cravings one might have. The game’s engine has also been completely redesigned to allow for a completely new feature; precision attacks. This allows every single enemy to carve a unique path throughout the battlefield, which should make for more interesting gameplay.

Fieldrunners 2 is also far, far bigger in scope than its predecessor. This time you’re defending the world, not just plain acres of land. You’ll be placing towers and planning defensive strategies across forests, glaciers and volcanic grounds.

A summer release has been confirmed but no specific date has been set, although it should be sooner rather than later.
